Grand Finale of Marathwada Innovation Challenge 2019

The Grand Finale was hosted in MIT BTech Aurangabad on 14th Sept 2019. Shortlisted top 18 teams from 6 cities pitched their ideas to the panel of judges.

The panel expert and successful entrepreneurs Mr. Sunil Raithatha, MD, Vinodrai Engineering, Jalna, Mr Satish Jayaram, Principal, Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad,  Mr Prashant Deshpande, CEO and Director, Expert Global Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Charted Accountant Vijay Rathi and Charted Accountant Vithal Deshmukh. The panel judged evaluated the ideas on the basis of innovation, scalability and business models.

Mr Sarang Bora from Gofloat Technologies bagged the first prize of Rs 1,00,000/- (One Lakh) and won the Winner title in the competition. GoFloat Technologies is the modern solutions to prevent drowning. A portable and affordable flotation device that prevents individuals from in flood like situations. It is developing, producing and selling reliable flotation and other water safety devices.

Mr Siddhant Tawarawala from Wide Need Pvt Ltd. Stood second and bagged prize of Rs 75,000/- (Seventy Five Thousand) and won the title of Runner Up. Wide Need Pvt. Ltd. provides a hustle free urine solution called pocket toilets with high standards of hygiene. A paper based bag which has a uni-sexual funnel on the top which can be used by men, women to pee. The pee gets collected into a bag and turns into thick odourless gel within few seconds of use so that it stays leak proof and spill free.  The bag can hold up to 1000 ml of urine that means a person can use it to pee 3 times in a single bag.

Ms Poonam Pawade from Hatcher Technologies became the Winner (Ideation Stage) and bagged prize of Rs 50,000 (Fifty Thousand) Hatcher Technologies will be an electricity-free, affordable post-harvest, on-farm storage solution for small and marginal farmers, which provides farmers crucial time to tackle the demand-supply gap and thus earn more profits. Hatcher Technologies develop the most energy-efficient and high-performance self-sterilizing and controlled humidity microclimate in a self-sustained tent, to store fruits and vegetables on the farm for longer durations.

Ms Neha Wadikar from Wish Funda awarded as Best Woman Entrepreneur also the prize of Rs 50,000 (Fifty Thousand). Wish Funda is a marketplace for wishful experiences, which are enjoyable and enriching at the same time. The Funda is to provide Customers with exciting and extraordinary experiences, one can engage with Artist, musicians, chefs, photographers, designers and others who inspire shared interests, hence creating lasting memories.

Ms. Ridhima Gauba from InterviewAir and Mr Lekh Mithawala from MyBrain grabbed Best Jury award and bagged prize Rs 25,000/- (Twenty Thousand) each.

InterviewAir is an AI based Asynchronous Video Profiling technology, which assists Corporate HRs for Talent Acquisition in India, to start with (aspiring for global markets), making sure that job seekers from remote areas (Tier 2/3&4) get an opportunity for employment. The product works as an interface between Job Seekers, Colleges, Vocational Institutions, Corporate, Consultants & Trainers, and it can bring together the Candidates looking for jobs to the Corporate without being physically present for the multiple rounds of job interviews (both technical and non-technical).

MyBrain manufacture recycled Paper Pencils which is made from old & waste papers. The Paper Pencils are a Green Engineering Product, which is not only eco-friendly but also Best in Quality, performance & results. Mybrain manufacture Seed Pencils – a pencil which saves trees & then makes itself available to be planted for germination of new trees.

The award ceremony was conducted in presence of Hon. District Collector Aurangabad, Mr Uday Chaudhari IAS, Mr. Shivprasad Jaju Hon. Secretary CMIA, Mr Shankar Kumar, Advisor, GIZ New Delhi, Dr. Santosh Bhosle Principal MIT Aurangabad, Mr Ritesh Mishra, Convenor Marathwada Innovation Challenge 2019, Mr Prasad Kokil, Mr. Kedar Deshpande Mr Ashish Garde and Mr. Rohit Dashrathi  Directors MAGIC.

17 teams were given Letter of Interest from MAGIC to explore the opportunities for Incubation Support and Mentoring Support.

First round of Startup pitching held on 17th &18th August 2019 hosted at Aurangabad

Inaugural ceremony of first round of pitching conducted in the gracious presence of Dr. Ulhas Shiurkar, Director, Deogiri Institute of Engineering and Management Studies and Mr. Girdhar Sanganeria, President, CMIA. Dr. Ulhas Shiurkar appreciated MAGIC for initiating Marathwada Innovation Challenge 2019 for the Startups in the Region, Mr. Ritesh Mishra, Convener, Marathwada Innovation Challenge 2019 gave the opening remarks, Mr. Satish Lonikar Jt. Secretary CMIA, Mr. Prasad Kokil, Director, MAGIC were also present.

Top 33 shortlisted startups from 10 cities across the country, presented their innovative ideas to an independent panel of judges comprising successful entrepreneurs and professional experts, of these 33 start-ups that were selected from nearly 250 entries, 25 were from Marathwada while 6 came from other parts of the country. The Panel of Judges rigorously evaluated each of the teams on various parameters such as inattentiveness of the ideas, project viability, business model, scalability, marketability, risk-reward assessment etc.

Each Team was given 10 min to present their idea and thereafter 10 min were allocated for a grueling question and answer round by the Panel of Judges
