Marathwada Accelerator for Growth and Incubation Council (MAGIC), Ycenter in association with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar MarathwadaUniversity (Dr. BAMU) hosted One Day Workshop on Business Idea Validation and Building Business Models for Students, Startups and Faculties in Marathwada Region on 15th June 2018 from 9:30am – 5:30pm in CFART Auditorium, DDUKK Dr.BMAU Campus, Aurangabad.
During the inaugural function of the workshop Hon. Vice ChacellorDr. B. A. Chopde, Prof. M.D. Shirsath Director Incubation Center, Mr. Prasad Kokil President CMIA, Mr. Ashish Garde Director MAGIC and invited speakers Mr. Milind Kank, Mr. Amar Pathak, Mr. Vikramank Singh and Mr. Rohan Goswami were present.
Prof. M. D. Shirsath explained the activities conducted under the umbrella of Innovation and Incubation Center of Dr. B.A.M.U and gave preamble of the workshop. He mentioned lots of students are coming with innovative academic projects that can be commercialized but due lack of knowledge regarding start-up, business policies and mentoring students are not able to commercialize the project and start their own business. The center will help such students to start their own ventures.
Mr. Prasad Kokil, President, CMIA told about Marathwada Accelerator for Growth and Incubation Council, section 8 company promoted by CMIA. Currently MAGIC is incubated 3 startups and mentoring them by providing all the support systems. He also mentioned that students must identify and work on painkiller ideas of the society which has more chances to convert as a viable business models.
Honourable Vice Chancellor, Prof. B A Chopade gave the inaugural address and spoke about industry – academia collaborations. He mentioned that Dr. BAMU’s incubation center is only recognised incubator under Atal Incubation Center (supported by Atal Innovation Mission) and Jamnalal Bajaj Incubation Center (Supported by Bajaj Auto Pvt. Ltd) are established in campus to nurture innovative ideas of the students and faculty members and convert laboratory research into production.
Mr. Amar Phatak, Managing Partner in AMP Engineering Design Ventures LLP. addressed on Problem faced by startups and how to overcome from the challenges. He expressed his interest to support startups in the Marathwada Region.
Mr. Milind Kank, MD, Yeshshree Press Compo Pvt. Ltd one of the Keynote speaker interacted with the participants and gave the many activities to understand the what it takes to be an entrepreneur. He stressed on the qualities of the individual which makes him or her innovator and entrepreneur, he suggested to inculcate innovative thinking and entrepreneurial mindset to become successful entrepreneur.
Mr. Vikramank Singh, Artificial Intelligence Researcher shared his experience working with AI Technology. He explained how Artificial Intelligence will change the world in next few years. He also stressed to adopt technology in local business and scale up the business, as world is changing with technology and Artificial Intelligence will play a key role in future and create lots of technology jobs too.
Mr. RohaanGoswami, COO, Ycenter conducted business validation and building business model workshop and participants engaged in conceptualising the idea and building a relevant business models by understanding the root cause of the problems. Participants actively involved in ideation and building businessmodels.
During the Idea pitching session participants Ms. Arpita Shah, Mr. Gajanan, Mr. Kulkarni and Mr. Sumedh Wankhade presented their ideas in front of the expert panel and audience. The experts panel Mr. Vikramank Singh, Rohan Goswami, Niwruti Gajbhare and Dr. Mahendra Sethi, gave their suggestions and future directions for implementing the idea. 104 participants from academics and industries were present for the workshop.
MAGIC Incubatees Mr. Yogesh Gawande, Ankur Anpat and Manish Suradkar were present and shared their experience and acknowledged the support and mentorship given by MAGIC to scale their startup idea.
